Foxe Film

writer. filmmaker. wizard.

Who is the Fastidious Fox?

Hailing from Cheyenne, Wyoming, Brian Faye is one of the coolest people you'll ever meet.  Not because of anything he's done, but mostly because he's thin and has a hard time retaining heat.

By the way,

Q:  "Why can't you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom?"

A:  "Because the 'p' is silent."

Dinosaur jokes will never go extinct.

Anyway, Brian started where a lot of filmmakers begin:  in the back yard.  At age 15, because he didn't know any actors, he started using his little sister's Burger King happy-meal toys as talent in his films.  The first movie he ever made starred Woody from Toy Story and Pocahontas from Pocahontas.  And by the end of this sentence, you'll have heard the word "Pocahontas" three times in one day.  Just to let you know, that's highly unlikely to happen on pretty much any day of the year.

In late 2006, Brian applied to the top six film schools in the country, hoping he might have a shot at getting into one of them. When he got into three, including the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts, he was ecstatic. That is, until he saw how much film school cost.  Ultimately choosing Chapman University, Brian relocated to Southern California to complete his M.F.A. in directing.

After three years of graduate work, Brian's thesis film, Jeremy, won the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Best Picture, Chapman's top honor. The short film went on to play at over 25 film festivals and win 12 awards, including over $20,000 in prizes. After having the feature script of Jeremy solicited for review by the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, Brian was also invited to meet with the VP of development at Scott Rudin's production company (True Grit, The Social Network, Captain Phillips).

Brian recently moved from California to Utah, where he currently works full-time as a film producer. In 2014, his feature-length script, Jeremy, was selected, out of 500 screenplays, as a top-ten finalist for the $25,000 Kairos prize for screenwriting.

Brian has worked in many aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production, and especially enjoys directing, writing, and editing. He is interested in creating content for all environments, including commercial, non-profit, and cinematic spaces.

No matter the project, he has a passion for creating work that will enrich and inspire others.  Brian is known as a careful and attentive filmmaker, always looking to create or capture meaningful details that would otherwise go unnoticed.  He's often the first person to arrive on shoots and one of the last to leave, truly loving what he does and wanting to do the very best work he can every time he picks up a camera.
