The whiteboard creation process

Whiteboard videos are made in two, general phases: the concept phase and the production phase. I provide services for the concept phase and then facilitate the production phase. First, I write the script based on your materials and desired outcome for the video. Then, I create all the image ideas that will tell the story in the best way possible.

Because I am not an animator, I then work with a local animation company who takes my script and images and helps bring them to life. Animation is a highly-specialized skill set, so I work with a company I know and whose animations I trust.

Because of my relationship with that company, you get a discount on the animation. Many companies charge three to five thousand dollars per minute of finished animation, but because I order often from this company, I am able to pass my bulk discount on to you.

*Most videos take approximately six weeks from concept to finish, provided the client is quick to approve the concepts as they evolve.

Whiteboard animation videos are made in an eight-step process.

1.  Initial consultation between filmmaker and client

2.  Script creation

3.  Image Conceptualization

4.  Consultation with animation company over video execution

5.  Drawing the conceptualized images

6.  Voice-over recording of the script

7.  Animation of Images into video form

8.  Final edit/polish with sound and speed check
