"Film is a window to the real world, but a lie that makes you believe the unbelievable."
-Irvin Kirshner
Foxe Film is the creative home of imaginative writer and director, Brian Faye. When you hire Brian, you get a unique, creative force, as well as 24 years of experience, contacts, and industry knowledge.
Brian started where a lot of filmmakers begin: in the back yard. At age 15, he didn't know any actors, so he recruited his little sister's happy-meal toys to star in his films.
After ten years of guerilla filmmaking, in early 2007, Brian was accepted into three of the top-ten film schools in the US, including the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Ultimately choosing Chapman University, he relocated to Southern California to complete his M.F.A. in directing.
After three years of graduate work, his thesis film, Jeremy, won the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Best Picture, Chapman's top honor. The short went on to play at over 30 film festivals and win 12 awards, including over $20,000 in prizes. In addition to having the feature script of Jeremy solicited for review by the Sundance Screenwriters' Lab, Brian was invited to meet with the VP of development at Scott Rudin's Oscar-winning production company (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network, Moonrise Kingdom). Two years later, his feature script of Jeremy was selected, out of 500 screenplays, as a top-ten finalist for the $25,000 Kairos prize for screenwriting. In 2019, he finished writing the feature film, "Rad," for the producers of the 2015 movie, "Just Let Go.” "Rad" tells the story of Rad Martinez, an accomplished UFC fighter profiled in the ESPN documentary, "The Promise."
Brian currently lives in Utah, where he works full time as a film producer. He has worked in many aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production, and counts ideation, writing, directing, and editing as his core competencies. He is interested in creating content for all environments, including personal, commercial, and cinematic spaces.
Brian has a strong background in both comedy and drama, and a passion for creating work that will engage and inspire others. No matter the project, he's known as a careful and attentive filmmaker, always looking to create and capture meaningful details that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Also, for some unknown reason, he has an affinity for foxes.
